The assembly of a horizontal slurry pump mechanical seal

The assembly of a horizontal slurry pump mechanical seal is as follows:

1. Before assembling the mechanical seal, check the condition of the O-rings and the stationary and rotating seal faces.

2. Clean the groove on the shaft sleeve where the O-ring is installed. Clean the end face and outer surface of the shaft sleeve that will be in contact with the rotating seal face. Lock the rotating seal face onto the shaft sleeve and tighten the anti-loosening screw.

3. Ensure that the tightening bolts of the assembled mechanical seal are tightened evenly and securely.

4. Position the impeller correctly and check if the sealing faces on both ends of the mechanical seal are properly aligned.

5. Gently push the impeller to measure the axial movement and verify if the position of the mechanical seal is appropriate.

6. Install the radial bearings and thrust bearings.

7. Install the back liner.

8. Reinstall the connected pipelines and instrumentation components.
