Precautions for ZJ slurry pump installation

Precautions for ZJ slurry pump installation:

  1. Stable installation: The concrete foundation should be stable enough to bear the weight of the pump and motor, and absorb vibrations. All anchor bolts should be tightened. Generally, the pump should be installed as close to the feed point as possible, but with enough space for inspection and maintenance.
  2. Motor rotation direction check, strictly forbid reverse rotation: It is strictly forbidden to reverse the slurry pump. Before checking the motor rotation direction, the entire coupling should be removed. If the motor rotates in the opposite direction to the arrow marked on the pump, it will cause the pump to reverse, resulting in damage to the impeller. After correctly adjusting the motor rotation direction, reinstall the coupling.
  3. Sealing: Packing sealing: Check the water supply for the shaft seal, ensuring that the water level is sufficient and the pressure is normal. Adjust the packing gland to allow a small flow of water along the shaft. Note that for new pumps, the packing gland is tightened to reduce shaft vibration during transportation. This type of sealing may have normal dripping.

Mechanical seal:

  • External flush mechanical seal: Add about 1 kg of clean flushing water.
  • Low-pressure self-circulation mechanical seal: It comes with its own water tank, ensure that the water in the tank is clean and sufficient.
  1. Bearing lubrication: Use thin oil lubrication and add oil according to the oil level line on the label before starting the pump. Never run the pump without oil, as it can lead to bearing damage.
  2. Startup: Start the pump with a slow frequency adjustment, and the duration of startup should be based on the principle of no pump vibration.
