Precautions for slurry pump installation:

1. Foundation:

A sturdy foundation and proper installation are essential for the reliable operation of the pump.

Both steel and concrete foundations can be used to support the weight of the pump and motor, absorb vibrations, and all anchor bolts should be tightened. Generally, the pump should be installed as close to the feed point as possible, while allowing enough space for inspection and maintenance.

2. Alignment of Pump Shaft and Motor Shaft:

The pump shaft and motor shaft must be precisely aligned. In the case of direct coupling, misalignment can cause harmful vibrations and wear on the coupling. Rigid couplings should not be used.

3. Piping:

A detachable pipe should be installed on the suction side of the pump, with a length sufficient to open the pump cover and replace vulnerable components. The suction pipe should be carefully installed to minimize wear.

Note: All pipe joints should be airtight to ensure automatic priming of the pump.
