How to remove the impeller of a slurry pump?
The impeller is an important component inside the slurry pump and is responsible for generating centrifugal force for slurry transportation. Among the components of a slurry pump, the impeller often experiences the fastest wear. So, how do we remove the worn impeller in order to replace it?

Let me explain the process as introduced by Panshi Pump Industry.
The impeller of our slurry pump is generally threaded, and its rotation direction is opposite to that of the pump. When looking from the inlet side of the pump, the pump rotates counterclockwise. Therefore, when the pump is started, the impeller becomes tighter as it rotates. To remove the impeller, you need to clamp the pump shaft with a wrench and rotate it in the direction of the pump’s rotation. Sometimes, after running for a period of time, the impeller may become tight. If you can’t turn it, you can try tapping it with a pry bar before attempting again.
For larger pumps, there may be an impeller disassembly ring. In this case, you need to remove the disassembly ring first before rotating the impeller.
