We discussed two methods to improve the efficiency and wear resistance of slurry pumps in the previous chapter. Today, let’s talk about some more methods to enhance these characteristics.

  1. Rigorous slurry pump assembly process. Before assembling the slurry pump, it is necessary to ensure the qualification of each component. After confirming that all parts are qualified, assemble them according to the assembly process requirements and adjust the clearances between components to meet the assembly process requirements.
  2. Reasonable selection of slurry pumps. To achieve efficient operation, it is crucial to select the slurry pump appropriately. Otherwise, it may fail to meet the parameter requirements or waste performance. When selecting a slurry pump, not only should the parameter requirements be considered, but also whether it can operate efficiently within the working range. Strictly follow the basic principles of slurry pump selection and avoid overloading. Overloading refers to selecting a pump based on its maximum performance, which leads to excessive operating speed. Although a smaller pump size is chosen, the excessive speed shortens the lifespan of the slurry pump, resulting in increased production costs in the long run.

Proper operation of slurry pumps in accordance with regulations. 1) On-site operators and maintenance personnel must carefully study the safety precautions for operating slurry pumps and be familiar with common faults and their solutions. 2) Follow the instructions provided in the slurry pump user manual and perform regular maintenance and upkeep of the slurry pump.
